BOATED OUT

Privacy

BOATED OUT collects the information you provide through the Community Logs form, including your name or nickname, email address, optional link, boat details, story and photographs. We never ask for your exact mooring location.

How we use it: With your consent, we use your submission to publish your Community Log on the BOATED OUT website, social media, videos and future publications. If you separately opt in, we may also contact you about appearing in a video or send you BOATED OUT news. You can unsubscribe from news at any time.

Your email address is never published or shared with other contributors or the public.

Comments: If you leave a comment on the site, your name, comment and any website you add are shown publicly. Your email address stays private. Comments are stored by WordPress.com and checked for spam, and we may moderate or remove them. You can ask us to delete your comment at any time.

Where it’s stored: Your information is stored securely with Tally (EU) and WordPress.com (US), who process it on our behalf. Where information is transferred outside the UK, appropriate data protection safeguards apply. We remove location metadata from photographs before publishing them.

How long we keep it: Published logs stay up until you ask us to remove them. We’ll take them off the website and social media, but we can’t recall videos or printed publications already released. Submissions we don’t publish are deleted after 12 months.

Your rights: You can withdraw your consent, request a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it or request removal of your Community Log at any time. You can do this by emailing hello@boatedout.com.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
