Maxi 95 · Skipper Steve · East Coast, UK
Comfortable and fast.
What should a buyer know?
Easy engine access. The engine sits under the saloon table, which makes getting to it very easy.
Mind the turning circle. The prop shaft exits the back of the keel, some way from the rudder, so turns can be wider than ideal, particularly in strong wind or tide.
Upgrades so far: new genoa, new windows, bow thruster, updated electrics and nav equipment, all cabins refurbished, holding tank fitted, now gas compliant, cockpit cover and tent, new engine mounts and a folding prop.
Why I bought her
She’s very well built, with substantial fittings and very good accommodation.
Where she shines
Beatrix sails nicely and points very well to windward. Her cockpit is comfortable and dry, thanks to her glass windscreen.
Adventures
Mostly short coastal sails so far. Hopefully there are more to come.
